Match Day #13
Kick Off: 15:05 GMT+1, 01:05 AEST
This Weekend, we travel to KC Stadium to take on the 13th placed Hull City. Last time we met Hull City was in the 2009-10 season, and the final score was 0-0.
This game is very important, we must win the three points, if we want to keep up with the leaders, and stay in front of Chelsea. Hull City's last six games are DLLWLL, and our last six games have been WDWLWD. If we win the game, and Southampton rise to the occasion against Chelsea, we could gain some points on them, which would be great as they are one of the other teams competing for a UCL spot.
The club has just recently released some news on the website (liverpoolfc.com) regarding Daniel Sturridge's fitness. The article says "Daniel Sturridge will be assessed by the club's medical staff today after the striker rolled his ankle in training." This could be costly for us, as he has played a very major part in the success we have had so far this season. But it will also allow for him to get a break, hopefully just a break if the injury isn't too major. It will also allow Suarez to probably play up front by himself, which means Brendan Rodgers could use a 4-3-3 formation like he did last season before they bought Sturridge.
Personally, I would like to see Agger start again, and maybe Sakho or Skrtel to partner him. For left back I will go with Jon Flanagan, as he played incredibly well against Everton in that position, and for right back, the reliable Glen Johnson. It wouldn't hurt to put Flanagan in his natural/preferred position at right back, and then play Johnson at left back as he has before, but then also it would be good just to keep it the same as last game. In the midfield trio I would like to see, Steven Gerrard, Lucas Leiva and Jordan Henderson, with Gerrard and Lucas playing the deeper role out of the three. In the front trio, Philippe Coutinho, Luis Suarez and Victor Moses.
That is the starting line up I would like to see against Hull City which I think would do great, and around the 60-70th minute, bring on sterling and maybe Illori if we are winning, as this would be a great chance for him to get a run in the first team.
